So, I admit it. I am a Red Sox fan.

It came upon me kind of sudden-like. In the Bay Area, there are Giants fans here and there. But in Boston, the Red Sox are SERIOUSLY beloved. And I'm now caught up in it. I can name them all, the positions they play, and which ones I'm mad at for inexcusably bad pitching on Wednesday.

They were 2.5 games up on the (hated) Yankees, and all seemed to be going well. They were on track to be in the playoffs.

Remember that part in Return of the Jedi, when Luke is all "No I won't fight. Screw you, Emperor." and so the Emperor starts toasting him with Force Lightning? And remember what the Emperor says while he's doing that? "Only now, at the end, do you understand!"

Yeah. That's kind of what it's like being a new Red Sox fan. They were up 2.5 games, they have now tanked down to 1 game behind the Skanks (That's Bostonese for Yankees). I can see Derek Jeter in a robe, cackling at me, saying "So be it, RED SOX FAN! Only now, at the end of the season, do you understand!"

Well, the Sox will have my full support tomorrow against the Skanks. I'm gonna be there at Fenway, baby!
