I have an announcement to make, and I'm afraid it is bad news. Casey and Andy will be coming to an end.
It wasn't an easy decision, nor one that I made quickly. I have known for about two months that I would be ending it this year. The fact of the matter is that I've run out of ideas, and it's not fun to make anymore. I have come to dread Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights because I have this annoying 2 hour chore to do on each of them. What's worse is that the quality of the jokes and storylines has deterriorated over the past year as my ability to make fresh content for C&A has all but evaporated.
But I won't leave you hanging. Today begins a story arc that will conclude all running plotlines and explain all mysteries. This will be the Finale Story Arc. And remember, in a finale, all bets are off. Anything can change, because there's no status quo to protect. I expect the story arc to be full-sized, running 35 to 40 strips.
The last C&A will be Strip 666 (seems like a good number to be the last strip) which is about 45 strips from now. I admit I don't have the whole arc storyboarded out yet, so it might end earlier than Strip 666. If it does, I'll finish off with a few extra strips to get there. 45 strips is a long time, so there will still be several months of C&A before the end.
The reduced schedule (Mondays and Tuesdays) is temporary. I expect to return to 3 updates per week fairly soon.
Please don't send email urging me not to quit. It's hard enough to do as it is. But the time has come and my mind is made up.
