ZOOMER POKER DECK

As part of the genre for a roleplaying game I once invented, there was a race of felines nicknamed "Zoomers" by humans because the humans couldn't pronounce the Zoomer's word for Zoomer. They played a game called "Zoomer Poker," which was based on Terran Poker, and that's where this deck comes from.

A Zoomer poker deck consists of 50 cards. There are 10 cards of each of 5 suits. The denominations are A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. The Suits are Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Stars.


Step 1: Buy Stuff

You'll need two ordinary decks of cards. Both decks need to have the same pattern on the backs of the cards. You can find decks of cards at most grocery stores, and of course at game shops.
You'll also need a blue Sanford Sharpie pen. Again, you can probably get this at your local supermarket. Failing that, any stationary store will do.

Step 2: Throw stuff away


From one deck of cards, remove all the face cards, leaving you with A-10 of Spades, Hearts, Clubs, and Diamonds. From the other deck, collect the A-10 of Diamonds and throw the rest away.

Step 3: Vandalize the cards


Take one set of A-10 of Diamonds from the deck. Using the blue pen, draw over all the numbers, and trace over all the Diamonds. Also, draw an X through each diamond on the cards.

When you finish a card, make sure you set it off by itself to dry. That Sharpie ink can take a deceptively long time to dry, and if you stack the cards as you do them, you'll have ink all over everywhere.

After about 10 minutes, the cards will all be dry, and you can assemble them into a deck and play whatever Zoomer Poker games strikes your fancy.
